Dunfermline To Shine Bright This Summer

Dunfermline Delivers is launching a robust marketing campaign designed to drive footfall to the City throughout the summer.

Working across print, radio, outdoor and direct, the campaign kicks off on Friday 2nd May with a radio campaign running for ten weeks on Kingdom FM.

The adverts commissioned by the BIDs company will focus on events such as the Bruce Festival as well as promoting Dunfermline as a vibrant shopping and leisure destination.

Stealing a march on the capital, Dunfermline will for the first time feature in a poster campaign at Edinburgh Airport targeting visitors arriving at the airport with the Bruce Festival a key driver.

Another first for the city, the BIDs company will be promoting Dunfermline to over 40,000 visitors at Gardening Scotland 30th May – 1st June inclusive. Dunfermline’s stand will have a Robert the Bruce themed garden including a large-scale sculpture of the spider that is an iconic part of the Bruce story.

Dunfermline is also investing in a PR campaign targeting visitors from home and abroad and was recently featured in coverage in Scottish Field distributed across North America, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

Dunfermline Delivers has also been developing social media campaigns to promote the city and events taking place throughout the year. The Dunfermline facebook page run by BIDS is the second most popular BIDs page in Scotland and numbers on Twitter are growing steadily.

Chief Executive of Dunfermline Delivers, Maggie Mitchell said: “We need to make the limited marketing budget work really hard for Dunfermline so have carefully planned some cost effective promotions. But there is a lot to gain as well – the Bruce Festival contributes nearly £400,000 to the Scottish economy, most of that goes to the local economy.”
