How to Choose the Right Mobile Phone?
Choosing a mobile phone can be a very difficult task, as today producers offer us a wide variety of such devices. Those of us who don't know much about electronics, may have a huge problem with deciding which phone will be the best for us. However, we just need to follow some simple steps, which eventually will narrow down the choice of phones which suit our needs.
Make a List of Your Needs
Sit down at the table, take a piece of paper and a pen, and make a list of all the features you need your phone to have. For example, if you have an online blog about fashion, you have to make a lot of good quality photos. It means, that you need a phone with great camera and appropriate storage. Others receive work-related e-mails or even talk to their clients through skype, and they need wide, solid screen with high resolution.
It all depends on how you will mostly use your phone, so it can perfectly match any of your needs.
Choose an Operating System
Deciding on your phone's software is another important matter, so you have to think about it carefully. Many people tend to choose the devices with operating systems that they used before. But it's good to check what every one of them has to offer, and even try them out for a while, so we will be sure that it is the system matched to our needs.
There are three operating systems worth considering:
- iOS (iPhone) - users like it because it is easy to use, has good security system and you can integrate it with other Apple products. What is more, you may use its exclusive features, like iCloud support, Siri and Face Time chat.
- Android - it is known for the lower price and integration with Google services, but it's also easy to customize. Android allows users to install third party apps, it has cloud storage for photos and lets us use Google Drive.
- Windows - it isn't as popular as two previous software, but it is integrated with Microsoft products. It has Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF options, it uses Cortona for voice activation and Live Tiles homescreen customization.
Define the Price Range
You need to determine how much you are able to pay for your new phone. iOS phones are generally more expensive than the rest of devices working on different operating systems. That is why, if you want to buy iPhone you should be prepared for quite high price. Samsung and Sony are typically less expensive, but they still may cost a lot. And you will usually pay less for HTC, LG and Motorola.
Remember however, that the price of the phone can be much lower, if you decide to buy it along with the phone carrier contract. There are also providers which offer free devices upon signing such contract. That's why, it may be a good idea to check the offers of different providers first.
Get to Know Phone Models
Nowadays, every producer has many different phone models available in his offer. The best way to know them, is to visit a store with such devices. That way, you can try demoing any of the phone models which you are interested in. You will get the sense of an interface and the operating system. Especially, if it isn't the one you were using till now.
