How do I feed a small cat?
Cats at every stage of their development require appropriate food that is balanced and valuable. Kittens, adults and older cats alike need many nutrients for the body to function properly, especially in the fast-growing phase. It is therefore worth paying attention to what kind of food we feed to our animals and make sure that it meets their specific nutritional needs.
Feeding your cat
Kittens' diet requires high levels of fat and proteins, and it should also have an increased amount of calcium. This enables them to develop properly and increase their body weight in a fully controlled way.
Gripping on weight is extremely active in the case of small kittens. They are extremely active, and in addition they use a lot of energy in the growth process, so it is worth making sure that the food given to them is adequately calorific. This allows not only to control their body weight, but also to avoid possible overfeeding, which in the future may result in overweight.
A cat's daily weight gain depends, among other things, on her breed or stage of development. It usually ranges from 10 to 30 grams per day. If you have any disturbances or doubts, it is also worth going to the vet for a consultation. Usually, cats will have a growth stage of around 12 months of age, with larger breeds such as the Maine Coone, for example, this period can be extended accordingly.
A very important moment in the nutrition of every cat is the introduction of solid foods into its diet. The initial period of their lives is based exclusively on mother's milk, which is rich in protein, which supports their growth. The first foods should be introduced at the earliest at the end of the kitten's 4 weeks of age.
If the cat cannot be fed mother's milk, for example if she is abandoned, the milk replacer should be given through a bottle with a soother. Under no circumstances should cow's milk be given to the cat because it contains too much sugar compared to low protein content.
How do I feed my kitten?
When your cat is 4 weeks old, you can slowly begin to introduce solid foods into her diet. For kittens, it should be a small amount of wet food or crispy food that has been soaked in cat's milk or water right from the start. You should also teach and accustom your pet to chewing and licking food, so it's best to administer it in a shallow bowl or on a finger. Your cat may still consume mother's milk or bottle milk for some time.

How to feed a 2 month old cat?
As your cat grows, the proportion of solids in her diet should increase. It's worth getting used to different textures and flavours of food. From about 2 months of age, you can introduce a more varied diet, which can include dry food, wet food as well as cooked meat (delicate, e.g. turkey). Be careful, however, as your cat's body is not yet fully mature and suitable for a variety of foods.
How many times a day should I feed my kitten?
Cats that are about 2-3 months old should only eat solid food. Therefore, it is very important to ensure a balanced diet, which is based on high quality products and administration of correct portions. However, the right proportions of protein, fat and carbohydrates in self-prepared food are very difficult and time-consuming, which is why many people decide to use ready-to-eat, dry and wet foods. Some of them are enriched with vitamins and formulas to improve kittens' immunity.
